Here is a process video where you can see how I decorated Travelers Notebooks to create a faithbook planner. Have you used Travelers Notebooks? I love using them for my bible study notes and sermon notes. They are a nice size and come in a variety of formats (calendar grid, dots, lined, plain and graph). The ones I use are from doodlebug design. They measure approximately 4.25″ wide by 8.25″ tall.

Tips:

  • I started with the doodlebug design Travelers Planner which gave me a nice binder style base to start with.
  • Use as many inserts as you want. You can always add more later.
  • You don’t have to decorate the Travelers Notebooks as they come in very cute patterns
  • If you want to coordinate your notebooks into a theme, cut Scrapbook Paper 4.25″ x 8.25″ and then round the outer edges with a Creative Memories Corner Rounder to completely cover the front of your notebooks. Do the same on the back.
  • Layer quotes from CM’s Variety Mat Packs
  • Layer Stickers and Embellishments using Foam Squares or Tape Runner
  • Add Embellishments or Stickers to the top of cardstock squares to make pull tabs for cute little inserts for your binder pockets
  • When layering embellishments or stickers it’s fun to go off the page and then trim off any excess with scissors.
  • Use Laser Cut Embellishments for Titles (the ones I used are from Creative Memories Homestead Collection)
  • Use Title Stickers to label your books by theme (the ones I used are from Creative Memories Keep the Faith Sticker Pack)
  • If you’re putting an embellishment right up to the corner of your notebook cover, use the Corner Rounder to round off the edge for a perfect fit.
  • You can divide up your Prayer Journal by subject or person or chronologically.

Sections:

  • Scripture/Affirmations…this is where I write out scripture that I want to memorize or study.
  • Prayer Journal….this is where I will keep prayer requests/needs so I can remember to pray for specific people and also look back on how God is at work
  • Sunday Sermon Notes….when I attend church I have found it helpful to take notes. It keeps me focused on listening. Sometimes I will doodle or draw images that come to mind as I am listening.
  • Bible Study Journal….whatever current bible study I’m doing, I like to use this journal in my morning quiet time to answer the questions and participate in an in depth bible study. Currently I’m going through Philippians with Kari Denker’s journalanddoodle study.
  • Pockets for notes and verses
  • Pen holder

I may add tabs to the journals…but this is my set up so far.

“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, Oh Lord, my rock and my redeemer.”

Psalm 19:14
