If you would like a simple system for organizing your printed photos, you will want to watch this video! When I was growing up our family photos were stored in two boxes buried deep in our linen closet. There was no way to identify who was in a lot of the photos as they weren’t labeled and as far as chronological order, forget about it! How about you? Did you grow up having your photos organized into photo albums? Or hidden in a shoebox stashed under the bed?

Let me show you one of my favorite systems for storing photos.

Creative Memories Power Sort Box comes with instructions on how to assemble. The Power Sort Box and compartments are made of photo-safe, durable polyproplylene. This material keeps your photos protected from light and dust when they are not in an album.

The Power Sort Box comes with 6 smaller Compartment Boxes. Each compartment box holds 200 4×6 or 5×7 photos. The compartments fit inside of the Power Sort Box giving you a total storage capacity of up to 1,200 photos per Power Sort!

The Power Sort Box has an outside pocket so you can label the box. I typically label my boxes by years. I always use pencil because as I put photos into my albums, I can update the box to the current year or album project. Any duplicate photos are stored in Power Sort Boxes in my closet. Some people choose to throw away extra photos. I like to keep them in case I need them for a future album or project. Sometimes the kids have needed photos for a school project, graduation display, party, etc. so it’s good to keep some extras on hand.

Add your photos to each Compartment. You can organize them by chronological date or by subject, whatever works best for you. The compartments are interchangeable and can easily be taken out so you can access just the set of photos you need for your current album project.
