Do you ever go to the same vacation spot over and over? Maybe you like to go camping or maybe you go to Disneyland every year. Our family has been taking trips to Black Butte Ranch almost every summer since our 4 kids were little. I was able to put 7 years of these trips into one album. At the bottom of this post is a flip-through video where you can see the entire album. I love how having all of the trips in one album shows us the progression of time – our kids were so little when we first started going and maybe someday they will bring their own children to Black Butte. I love having all of our Black Butte memories in one album (soon to be two).

I made this album as a Christmas gift to my husband. I used Creative Memories Fast2Fab Refill Pages which are predesigned pages and as you can see in the video (below) I just added my photos and some journaling. I didn’t take the time to mount my photos onto mats because I like the simplicity (and speed!) of just sticking my photos on the pre-designed page.
I did add a few embellishments from the Woodland Whimsy Collection which is actually a baby collection. I liked that the embellishments were numbered 1-12 so where you would use these to designate your baby’s age in months, I used the numbers to designate each of our trips.
I love interspersing Multi-Pocket Pages into my albums. This is another trick that speeds up memory keeping and I just love the look and feel of Pocket Pages. You can use mats from the Variety Mat Packs to fill any empty pocket or to use for journaling your story. You can also write directly on the album page.
In this album (shown in the video) I used Creative Memories “Countryside” Fast2Fab Refill Pages and when those ran out, I used “Gather Together” Fast2Fab Refill Pages. Don’t worry if you can’t find the exact set of pages that I’m using in this video as Creative Memories is always coming out with new Fast2Fab designs for all seasons and occasions. You can also get Variety Mat Packs (and Stickers, Paper and Embellishments) that match the Fast2Fab theme. That way if you use Pocket Pages, the mats coordinate nicely! If you would like to see some Winter layout ideas using Winter Woods Fast2Fab Pages, check out this video: Donna Lyn’s January Pages!
If you ever feel like the design on the page doesn’t match your photos, you can always cover up the design with scrapbook paper. That’s what I did towards the beginning of this scrapbook for my pool pictures. I just grabbed a 12×12 piece of paper with some lighter blues and I covered up the Fast2Fab border on each side. You can get as creative as you want with Fast2Fab just like regular scrapbooking. But for this album, I got it done in just a few hours.
You can include memorabilia in your scrapbook of course. You will see in the video I included a pair of paper glasses we were given during the total eclipse. Peekaboo Pockets are handy when you want to add just a few more photos on your page. At the end of the scrapbook, on the inside back cover, I attached a memorabilia pocket so I could include a map of the resort.
I was able to get seven years of memorable trips into one album and it was one of the best Christmas presents I’ve given – my hubby is not easy to shop for so this was a win! I included inside jokes and fun memories that will help us relive these trips over and over. Now I’m starting Volume 2 as we have more trips in our future.
