8x8 album

In this video I’ll show you a flip thru of my 8×8 album and then a walk thru how to add embellishments and stickers to your layouts. 8×8 albums are a wonderful size for a gift album, birthday album, December Days album, Halloween costume album, mini travel album, baby book, grandma brag book, etc. I just love this size!

To decorate, you’ll want a coordinating Creative Memories Embellishments Pack and Sticker Pack. I like to use Foam Squares on the embellishments to make them 3 dimensional on your page. You can use the stickers as is or add Foam Squares to the back of your stickers just like we did on the Embellishments. The coordinating embellishments I used in the video are from the National Scrapbook Day pack and match the NSD paper perfectly.

Try layering and clustering your embellishments and stickers together for a fun look. You don’t really want them floating in space by themselves so anchor them together or on the edge of your paper.

Some stickers have intricate designs and you may need to punch out the parts that came off the sticker strip along with your sticker. Creative Memories Multi-Purpose Tool will easily remove the stuck on parts to reveal the cut outs in this leaf for example.

I love to use the phrases and titles that Creative Memories provides on their sticker sheets. This is a fast and easy way to enhance your journaling and your photos.

You can create your own embellishments by using coordinating paper and a punch like this darling Lemon Punch. This is especially helpful when I’ve used all the lemons from my embellishments pack and want to create some more. There are lots of punches to choose from – from horses to champagne glasses, bumblebees to hiking boots – punches are fun!

Just punch out the shape, use Tape Runner adhesive or Foam squares to attach to your layout.

Many of Creative Memories Sticker Packs come with 12 inch border stickers. When using them in your 8×8 albums, just layer them along the edge of your paper or page and trim with scissors. I like the Micro Tip Scissors because they are Teflon coated which prevents your scissor blades from getting sticky residue on them when you cut stickers and adhesive.

If you change your mind and don’t like your sticker placement, just use Creative Memories Multi-Purpose Tool to easily lift up stickers without tearing your paper or page.
