Do you ever feel overwhelmed at the thought of scrapbooking? Do you want to include some embellishments and journaling on your pages but not sure how? This video (below) will show you exactly how I add embellishments and journaling to my pages.

Add a Simple Border:

First you’ll see how to make a simple border using Creative Memories Border Maker System. For this page spread I’m using the icicle Border Maker Cartridge but there are lots of cartridges to choose from so you can adapt this page idea to any theme. You can layer and combine borders for a more elaborate look but for this page spread I liked the simplicity of using just a single border. Repositionable Tape Runner (my personal favorite!) allows you to move things around as you are creating your page. Over time the adhesive becomes more permanent.

Add a Journaling Box:

For journaling on this page I used a little journal box from the Winter Woods Embellishments Pack. I recommend using a Creative Memories Dual-tip Pen which has a bold tip on one side and a fine tip on the other side. The ink is permanent and won’t fade or smear.

Journal directly on the Page:

You can also write directly on the scrapbook page like I did along the edge of this matted photo. To see how I cut the oval photo and oval mat, watch this video: Donna Lyn’s February Pages

Use Quotes from a Mat Pack or Sticker Pack:

An easy way to add journaling is to use the quotes from the Variety Mat Packs. You can trim them down to size if needed like I did here. These also are great to use if you like to make cards.

Bullet Journaling:

To make journaling strips, use the Personal Trimmer to cut strips from white cardstock. If I’m bullet journaling, I’ll precut the strips. If I have more to say, I’ll usually write first then cut the strips to size. Sometimes I cut the ends with scissors to give it a flag tab. I added a Snowflake Sticker to the left of each journaling strip.

You can make your scrapbook pages as simple or elaborate as you want. If you’re overwhelmed with scrapbooking, I hope this post and video gives you some ideas on how to embellish and journal in a simple, fast way.
